SNAP and EBT Benefits

At My Corner Butcher, we offer our quality meat products and small batch locally sourced groceries to all residents in our service area. We accept EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits at our store.

How SNAP/EBT Works

EBT and SNAP benefits help individuals and families purchase eligible food items with a card that works like a debit card. If you're a SNAP recipient, you can use your EBT Card to shop at My Corner Butcher for a wide range of fresh, nutritious products.

What Can You Buy With SNAP/EBT?

EBT and SNAP benefits can be used to purchase a variety of essential food items. Perishable foods in the four staple food categories, dairy, grains, fruits/vegetables, and protein, are all eligible for SNAP/EBT purchases including:


  • Fresh & Frozen Meats
  • Beef (including Grass-Fed)
  • Pork (including house-made sausages and bacon)
  • Poultry (including antibiotic free and cage-free chicken)
  • Fruits & Vegetables
  • Dairy Products (including cheese, butter, and eggs)
  • Wholegrains Breads (such as pasta and crackers)

**Please note that EBT/SNAP benefits cannot be used to purchase non-food items such as gift cards, delivery/shipping fees, and vacuum seal packaging. You may need to pay additional fees with another form of payment.

Shopping In-Store with SNAP/EBT?

Shopping in-store is easy with you EBT card. Simply select the products you need and present your EBT card at checkout. Here's how to use your benefits in-store at My Corner Butcher:


  1. Select Eligible Products: As you shop, make sure to choose from our wide range of EBT-eligible items like meats, fresh products, dairy, and more.
  2. Checkout: At checkout, let our cashier know you're using your EBT card. You'll be able to split your payment if you're purchasing non-eligible items as well.
  3. PIN Entry: You'll enter your 4-digit PIN to complete the transaction, just like with a debit card.

Shopping Online with SNAP/EBT?

For your convenience, you can also use your EBT/SNAP benefits to order groceries online from My Corner Butcher. Our easy-to-use website allows you to browse our selection from home in order to call our shop and have your items prepared for pickup or delivery. When placing an order over the phone:


  1. Shop Online: Browse our selection of EBT-eligible products on our website. Feel free to add them to your online cart to help keep track!
  2. Place Your Order Over the Phone: When you're ready to place your order, call us at our shop at (252) 335-2254 and let our cashier know you're using your EBT card. They will be able to assist in taking your order and completing your payment. You'll be able to split your payment if you're purchasing non-eligible items as well.
  3. Choose Your Delivery Method: You can opt for in-store pickup, curbside pickup, or delivery, if delivering to one of our selected delivery areas. If using curbside, our team will bring your order out to your car for you.
  4. Accessibility Assistance: If you need help loading your vehicle or have accessibility needs, just let us know when you place your order.
